Goodbye, 7-Series. I hope you are in the same shape when I return. It’s in good company, though. That Wrangler is a 4.0 LJ. Straight-6 buddies.
I am returning to my home state of PA to ride out the storm. Bringing a couple of college buddies.

All the best.
How does that area normally handle flooding?

Here’s hoping for the best for everybody in Matthew’s path.

Stay safe. My aunt lives up in Hilton Head Island, SC and they started evacuations today in an abundance of caution.Hopefully that thing stays off the coast, but it looks like the latest track has it making landfall before curving out to sea.

Best of luck to you and your cars. Stay safe.

Glad you’ll be safe.
I almost bought a new LJ with a 6-speed back in ‘06. Seeing the prices of them now, I kinda wish I had.

Did you know the LJ of as never a factory code or wherever 2-letter designation code name is.
I’d have a hard time leaving my house, storm or not.
Is there a way to add hurricane insurance to the house & cars for the next two weeks?

Just for beach side right?

You can’t take ‘em with you?

Nope. You have to purchase that kind of insurance (usually windstorm insurance, which is entirely separate from flood insurance, neither of which are covered under homeowner’s insurance), 30 days before a storm forms in the Gulf. At least, that’s the way it works here in Texas. Not sure about along the Atlantic coast.
Also, along the coast here, windstorm insurance is mandatory. And there’s only one insurance provider. It’s kinda fucked.

Still time for a few runs to the big garage at MCO. $17/day is cheap insurance.

Our street floods under heavy rain sometimes. So this won’t be good.

Decided to not risk a breakdown of the BMW. The LJ is just safer in the concrete garage than the campground it normally stays at

It extended inland to us apparently. I just wanted to not be there.

This was bought for $7000 five years ago with about 40k. Just rolled over 100k. Gave my friend years of faithful service. It’s getting old now, and if I had the money I’d love to buy it off him. It’s pending some expensive repairs (computer related) and he’s probably going to get rid of it.

Thanks, Stef! Already back in PA.

I don’t understand why a hurricane would be forcing evacuation. When I lived in Florida, I was desperate to escape even when there weren’t storms.

Chain em down just in case?
